Day 4: Bay of Islands

and the fertile Waikato region to the "Thermal City" of Rotorua.

roaring geysers. Following this visit Paradise Valley Springs to see trout,birds
and wildlife before continuing to the Agrodome for a New Zealand farms how
featuring sheep dog demonstrations, cow milking and an introduction to the stars

Day 7: Rotorua -
Waitomo - Auckland (B)Travel over the forested Mamaku Ranges to Waitomo
for a guided tour of the world famous Waitomo Glowworm caves. View the millions
of glowworms on the cavern roof before continuing through the fertile Waikato
area to Auckland.
Day 8: Depart Auckland (B)Your arrangements

Day 4: Rotorua
(B)Visit Te Puia Thermal Reserve to see boiling mudpools and roaring
geysers. Following this visit Paradise Valley Springs to see New Zealand's

farm show featuring sheep dog demonstrations, cow milking and an introduction to
the stars of our sheep industry. The afternoon is at leisure. This evening enjoy

Day 5: Rotorua -
Wellington (B)Travel south to reach the popular lake resort of Taupo
before continuing on the Desert bRoad, dominated in the background by the three
peaks of Ruapehu, Ngarahoe and Tongariro. Continue south through lush farmland
before arriving in the 'Capital City' of Wellington.
Day 6: Wellington
(B)At leisure today to enjoy the many activities available. Highly
recommended is a visit to Te Papa, New Zealand's national museum.
Day
7: Wellington - Picton - Kaikoura (B)Journey across Cook Strait, which
separates the North and South Islands of New Zealand, and into the Marlborough
Sounds with its sparking clear water and lush forests before arriving in Picton.
Ttravel south through the town of Blenheim, before reaching Kaikoura, a town
steeped in Maori history and legend.
Day 8: Kaikoura - Christchurch
(B)Leave Kaikoura behind as you turn inland and travel through North
Canterbury to reach the 'Garden City' of Christchurch.
Day 9:
Christchurch - Mt Cook - Queenstown (B)Travel across the fertile
Canterbury Plains to Lake Tekapo and the church of the good shepherd before
continuing on to New Zealand's highest mountain, Mt Cook. Depart Mt Cook and
follow the shores of Lake Pukaki south through the historic Central Otago region
to the 'Alpine Resort' of Queenstown.
Day 10: Milford Sound
(B)Follow the southern arm of Lake Wakatipu to Lumsden, and onward to
Lake Te Anau. Enter the Eglington Valley and travel through the Homer Tunnel to
reach Milford Sound. Enjoy a cruise on this world famous fiord, dominated by
Mitre Peak and the cascading Bowen Falls. Return to Queenstown.
Day
11: Queenstown (B)An opportunity today to explore the endless optional
attractions available. Queenstown offers bungy jumping, jetboating, white water
rafting, gondola rides and much more. Optional activities not included in the
tour price.
Day 12: Queenstown - Glacier Region (B)Travel
along the shores of lakes Wanaka and Hawea to the Haast Pass, gateway to World
Heritage Westland Natoinal park. Continue up the west coast past spectacular
mountain ranges, native forests and lakes to the glacier region of Franz Josef
and fox Glaciers.
Day 13: Glacier Region (B)A full day at
leisure to explore this magnificent glacier region. Optional activities include
a scenic flight or guided walk on one of the glaciers. Optional activities not

Day 14: Glacier Region - Greymouth -
Christchurch (B)Travel north to Greymouth today and board the world
famous Tranz Alpine train (seat coach passengers only). Ascend through lush
beech forests past the alpine village of Arthur's Pass before crossing the
spectacular Southern Alps into Christchurch.

Day 6: Dunedin - Christchurch (B)
Travel north to reach Moeraki, famous for the fascinating Moeraki
Boulders (Maori legend describes them as the food baskets of the gods). Continue
north through lush farmland and a series of small farming communities to
Christchurch.
Day 7: Christchurch - Wellington (B) Travel
through North Canterbury before turning towards the coast to Kaikoura and onto
Blenheim before arriving in Picton. Transfer to the Interisland ferry terminal
for your journey across Cook Strait, the stretch of water that separates the
North and South Islands of New Zealand. Also view the Marlborough Sounds with
its sparkling clear waters and lush forests before arriving in Wellington.
Day 8: Wellington - Napier (B) Travel north onto Palmerston
North, famous for its agricultural university. Cross the Takapau Plains and

Day 1: ARRIVE CHRISTCHURCH
Arrive Christchurch International
Airport. You will be met by our representative and assisted for the transfer to
your hotel. Rest of the day is free at leisure. Many lovely parks and gardens
are scattered throughout the city, and trees abound everywhere. The Botanic
Gardens border the willow-lined Avon River and tree lined Hagley Park, to
provide a wonderful place of tranquility in the center of the city. Overnight at
the hotel.
Day 2: CHRISTCHURCH - FOX GLACIER/ FRANZ JOSEPH
Today An American breakfast awaits you. After breakfast, get transferred
to the train station for your Tranzalpine Express journey through the Southern
Alps to Greymouth. On your arrival at Greymouth you'll be met by our
representative and transferred to Fox Glacier or Franz Josef. Overnight at the
hotel.
Day 3: FOX GLACIER/ FRANZ JOSEF - WANAKA - QUEENSTOWN
Breakfast at the hotel. Proceed to your excursion to Franz Josef
Glacier. A guided 3 hour walk takes you to the Fox glacier, where two rivers of
ice extend from the mountains almost to the sea. At the head of Franz Josef
Glacier are the Southern Alps, which fed the glacier and pushed it down through
the valley. Once it covered the whole flat land out to sea, gouging the
landscape into the river valley of today. Since the ice age, the glacier has
retreated and advanced several times and is currently advancing again, creeping
down the valley a little more each month. Travel onwards on a scenic route
through Wanaka to Queenstown. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 4:
QUEENSTOWN - MILFORD SOUND - QUEENSTOWN
Today after breakfast, proceed
to travel by coach to Milford Sound through the world famous Heritage Fiordland
National Park, seeing majestic mountain scenery en route. Travel through
Eglinton Valley and the Homer Tunnel gateway to Milford Sound. Join a cruise to
see spectacular waterfalls and the might Mitre Peak rising sheer from the water.
You may be lucky to see seals, dolphins and penguins. This afternoon return to
Queenstown. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 5: QUEENSTOWN
Breakfast at the hotel. Proceed on a half-day sightseeing tour of the
City, highlights of the tour include Kawarau Bungy Bridge, Gibbston Winery and
Arrowtown, the historic gold mining village. Rest of the day is free at leisure.
Overnight at the hotel.
Day 6: QUEENSTOWN - MOUNT COOK - CHRISTCHURCH
Breakfast at the hotel. Depart for Christchurch via Mount Cook. Mt Cook
is the Headquarters for the Mt Cook National Park. Within the park there are
over 300 species of native plants, including the Mount Cook lily. The kea a
curious and cheeky alpine parrot native to New Zealand may also be seen. You can
also enjoy the Optional Scenic Flight over Mt. Cook.
Continue travelling
north to Lake Tekapo where you may wish to stop to see the beautiful Church of
the Good Shepherd, and the statue/memorial to the sheepdogs who played such an
important part in the early history of the region. Arrive Christchurch and check
into your hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 7: DEPART CHRISTCHURCH
After breakfast proceed for the AM city sightseeing tour of
Christchurch. Some of the highlights of the tour are the Anglican Cathedral,
Museum, Arts Centre & Mona Vale. Later our representative will arrange your
transfer to the airport to Depart New Zealand.
